Shower OverLiners

My OverLiner eliminates the need for tearing out the existing shower floor tile and is the preferred method if the walls and floor are stable. Additionally, the shower OverLiner never holds water, eliminating any wicking or mold problems inherent to standard shower pans.  You can check your liner yourself. Click here to learn how.

The materials in our OverLiner are IAPMO and ICC accepted for shower pans and as a primary waterproofing membrane. This system is ideal for any areas subjected to continuous submersion - shower pans, pools, spas and roman tubs. After properly preparing the shower floor, drain and wall tile, a liquid and fabric are applied to create a membrane (OverLiner). Tile is directly bonded to this thin, load-bearing membrane.

Remember, Tile, Grout and Cement ARE NOT WATERPROOF.  Don't be convinced that re-grouting will cure the problem - it won't.  An OverLiner solves the problem.

Here's why your shower floor is leaking. When a shower floor is created in new construction, starting with the rough framing:

1. The shower liner is installed, up 6 " up the walls and lays on the sub flooring. Whether it is a concrete or plywood sub floor doesn't matter. The liner is attached to a flange around the drain pipe making a waterproof seal.

2. Now the walls are installed, using either drywall or cement backer board to cover the liner on the walls and curb.

3. Using a cement mixture, the tile setter pitches the floor  to the drain and installs the tile over that cement mixture. End result is a pitched floor so the water runs to the drain.

The drawing shows how a conventional liner really holds "standing water". The distance from the top of the drain cover to the bottom of the floor has standing water (water can't drain up). By applying my OverLiner over the existing pitched tile floor, no more standing water! That is the ease of using an OverLiner.

Do it yourselfer? I'll send you the materials needed to install an OverLiner for $119.00. ( for up to a 32" X 60" shower floor.)  Click here for ordering details. Click here to see the steps to install an OverLiner.
